but back to my thought... is there anything sweeter than baby hands and feet... i dont think so...i shot the pictures below with the new lens tonight before our bedtime routine.... just before i put jackson in his crib i was reminded of my passion for photography.. not that i didnt know this before but it was all i was thinking about tonight...... heres why...
I gave my little man his dinner, played toys on the floor, read some books and then got ready for his tubby... played with his awesome water squirters he got for christmas -- man that little giggle cracks me up everytime! wrapped him up in his nice warm yellow ducky towel - got in his jammies between giggles and ready for his last feeding before bed.... seeing that he hadn't got a good afternoon nap he was one sleepy boy! After he was done eating - i put him up on my shoulder - he snuggled into my shoulder while holding his two little arms around my neck and sighed as he was fighting to stay away but then gave in and fell asleep right there! Most nights I put him down awake and he puts himself to sleep by talking- watching his aquarium or just rolling all around that crib! Some other nights he is so tired he is almost asleep when i put him down but isn't quite asleep in my arms... and then their are few nights like tonight- when he is so tired he is out like a light no matter where he is! On the few nights he does pass out - I usually just get up from the rocking chair and place him in his crib all snuggled with his little lovey but tonight was different...
I couldnt get up. i wanted to stay frozen in that moment forever. his little warm hands around my neck - his sweet little baby breath- all baby smelling after his warm tubby --all cozy in his jammies -- i just sat there with him in my arms in the glider with tears in my eyes when i remembered THIS IS WHY I WAS PUT ON THIS EARTH.. to be a mommy. and THIS IS WHY I LOVE PHOTOGRAPHY. I wanted to freeze that moment forever. I wanted to hold it close in my heart and open it up every single day. I remember why photographs mean so much to me... the remind me of the emotions that happened in a instant. they bring back the smells, the emotions, the thoughts, the little things that were going on at that second.... and just like everything else, as time passes those little moments become buried under new little moments, but to be able to pull out a picture and be transported back in time is priceless... truely. who wouldn't love to be reminded of those moments? and with my business i cant wait to allow others to remember their special moments - THATS why i want to do this.
so of course after i post this i will go back to the file in my photography folder titled 6.1.06 -- the day jackson was born. why? because my little baby is growing up so fast - i want to remember those first moments i met him...those thoughts, the fears, those tears, that happiness, those first few moments of looking in his eyes, and looking up into ricks eyes.. this was our gift. our blessing, our little man who chose us as parents...
thats all for now...
one grateful mama bear...
