so sad - what is wrong with people?!?!

i was reading a post on another photographer (erin) blog (who i really admire!!!) and i read the saddest post...

you can read her entire post: read here

PEOPLE ARE STEALING PICTURES AND USING THEM FOR NOT NICE THIINGS?!?!?!?! how sick. So in an effor to support what Erin posted.. PROTECT YOUR CHILDREN and all of your images...I guess thats part of be beast of the industry - people are always trying to steal things/copy them/pay less for them/scam you as a photographer but don't let them.. or at least try to do everything you can to make it difficult for them to do that. Sad that you have to do that really...

You'll notice the WATERMARK on all my images... well i guess i have been doing the same as Erin and not even realizing how easily it can be cropped out.. - well maybe i did realize it but didnt think people would really do that... i'm sorry to tell you - you will be seeing that puppy placed SMACK in the middle of photos to come... it may take away from some of the image but nobody will be stealing my jackaroni thank you very much! and if you do - I WILL FIND YOU- and i WILL make sure you remove them - just as Erin did. Thats why my myspace was private to protect jacksonbear... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr -- things are a-changin' around the jacksonbear blog....

let me remind you - friends and family alike -- i am happy to give you any of the images you might want for your own (and i imagine you'll like them even better WITHOUT a watermark on them in your frames!) but PLEASE do NOT steal them off this page.. Erin sure did sum it up nicely... let me quote what she said in case you didnt read her entire post... (i hope thats okay with her!!!)

"For any others that are reading this that might need a reminder: Right-clicking photos and saving them to your hard drive is ILLEGAL. It doesn't matter if you're a friend, a relative, or a stranger. If you want a photo I've posted here, email me and I'll consider it. Otherwise, knock it off. It's wrong."

thanks for posting this message Erin -- so important...

so all of you photographers - if its for business or for fun - PROTECT YOUR CHILDREN. go watermark EVERYTHING.
